How to Use Match Search Match Search/Browse Matches is the best way to find, filter, and sort matches if you know exactly what you want (and what you don’t want). You can search by gender, orientation, age, distance, and more, as well as look through thumbnails of photos until someone catches your eye and you want to look further. On the web Set your search options at the top of the Match Search page, then click the “Search” button to see your matches! On the app From your Discovery page (look for the magnifying glass in the bottom navigation row), tap the icon at the top of the page to open the filters screen. What you can search by Age Gender Orientation Location How recently they've been on OkCupid Height Attractiveness (A-list only, see note at bottom of this article) Body type (also A-list only) Language Ethnicity Religion Single status Monogamy status What type of relationship they're looking for Whether they smoke, drink, or do drugs People who have answered a question a certain way (A-list only) Interest/ keyword Education Kids Pets ✅ You can search using non-Roman characters ✅ You can also search for pretty much anything you can think of, not just a limited set of interests/keywords. Sorting Your Results Whatever your interests, you can use the “Order By” dropdown to choose how your matches are ranked and presented to you. If you’re not sure, try sorting by our “Special Blend”. We’ll look at many different things—more than just match percentage and last login time—and show some great matches that might not otherwise have shown up. “Special Blend” is the default sort method, but you can always select a different sorting method on a per-search basis. A-List-Only Options Some options in Match Search are A-List exclusive search options, such as sorting by question answer. If you’re not A-list and you try to use those filters, they will not apply to your search results. The "attractiveness" rating is one of these A-list only sorting options; “attractiveness” is based on the number of ‘Likes’ you receive from other members. Don't worry, we're not judging you on looks alone- remember, we always show your profile information next to your photo, because we know you're more than just a selfie. Frequently Asked Questions Why does Discovery say “They said yes” or “They said no”? That’s referencing the match question right above their profile photo! It doesn’t mean they Liked or Passed your profile.
